That's interesting. I may plug it into a scanner since I'm up that way fairly often. They have a very unique radio system. Each truck has a dedicated radio tied to a LTE gateway so essential each truck operates a repeater so they can have portable coverage in the vicinity of their trucks . They oper...

Re: Metro Ambulance
From what I was told, he's a firefighter in one of the communities up there. Active or retired I don't remember which. There was a Metro Ambulance out of Dorchester about 40 years ago. It didn't last long and someone else eventually bought the assets, maybe Reardon Ambulance. Which is also no longer...

Metro Ambulance
There's a new ambulance company operating out of Woburn. Metro Ambulance is a recent start up and I saw one of their ambulances in the Burlington area yesterday. They apparently only have two or maybe three ambulances only at this point. https://www.metroambulance.org/ The current hiring page says &...

I can imagine that every pilot who flies it might need to be checked out on the new configuration.

Re: New EMS and fire stations in South Boston
A15 was supposed to be a temporary station for the CANA project that was the first phase of the Big Dig. That was in the latter part of the 1980s. There was an unsuccessful plan to move A15 across the street to the firehouse. The current building where A14 and A9 are housed was supposed to be sold s...

Re: New EMS and fire stations in South Boston
I tried to find that out, but no luck so far. There is an outside chance that they will be co located, but that probably makes too much sense. I've been saying this for years about the seaport. It's a far cry from Anthonys pier 4 and Jimmy's harborside being the only reason to go down there. The rea...

They started on April 1, but were testing off and on during March.
I've been told that they will run dual mode for about a year in order to give members time to buy P25 equipment.

N72EH (Erwin Hirsch) was retired as part of the standardization of helicopters to the Airbus platform. Flight Aware has it flying from St. Louis to Cairo, IL last month, but nothing since. I'm getting this as both P25 and DMR with CC03. I haven't caught the NAC yet, but it appears that the P25 user is encrypted.
Both signals are more or less equal in strength.

Bristol uses 453.200 for parades and details. The Wiki has it as DMR and unlike the VHF channels not encrypted.
