Re: Pops goes Boston 2022
I wouldn't be surprised if the 700 system comes alive with traffic at some point. Troopers from all over the state get called in for the 4th of July. Several years back I met a trooper from Lee who was called in for the day. He told me it's an "All hands on deck" event for the MSP. Pretty ...

Re: Pops goes Boston 2022
Thanks. The first couple of years my son was at Mass Maritime they used the Maine ship because theirs was in for a refit. The kids referred to it as the "State of Pain" because it was in such bad shape. Maine Maritime Academy - State of Maine is in Dry Dock and Texas A&M - General Rudd...

Re: BearCom RDC
It's odd because when you look at the RRDB, they don't show up, but when I did a test download using ARC536 everything populated properly. I did that last night, but didn't get a chance to post it. We haven't heard from the OP for a bit, so I don't know if he got it figured out. RR has the correct L...

Re: BearCom RDC
It depends on what the RRDB downloads for Channel numbers. You need the correct numbers for the scanner to follow the sites. The SNE Wiki has the correct info. If what you downloaded from the RRDB doesn't match you need to edit what's in ARC536.

Re: BearCom RDC
You need to program all of the frequencies in the correct order and the Channel Numbers as well. Here is the channel line up for Site 3, which is Plymouth. 0451.350000 109 RAN=3 0462.150000 573 RAN=3 0463.425000 675 RAN=3 0462.350000 589 RAN=3 0464.735000 780 RAN=3 Make sure that the system type is ...

Don't hold me to this, but IIRC it was because the audio is processed through the Astro Core. Which can control Type II systems and even conventional ones.

Worcester Airport Drill
Active shooter drill at the airport this morning. C-Patrol-2, F-Patrol-3, LPS 7, all in use.
I don't know for sure if this was an actual drill or a table top exercise.

VTAC11 very active today, but I couldn't really figure out who was using it. I think a lot of interop channels are patched together as I also heard 8TAC91 at the same time.
kelton.dray wrote: ↑15 Jun 2022 13:27 I believe I can hear related chatter on VTAC11 up in Nashua.
Very frequent and mainly unintelligible.

Re: New England Security
The last hit I have for TG 208 was last December. My reception of Site 4 is spotty at best, so I think it's likely I was hearing them on Quincy as South Boston and Boston are also pretty spotty. I have it in my notes as Site 4 (Medford) which would make sense for New England since they're based in M...

SOPS 5 being used. It sounds like it might be for traffic control. Doing roll call with post locations right now.

781 and 783 are water taxis, and given that 781 had traffic referring to the Logan water taxi, they are Boston Water Taxi. 789 may also be.

TG has joined 783. Definitely some sort of harbor shuttle related. I haven't been able to get locations, but one conversation regarded another employee who ran a boat aground and got in some trouble with the Coast Guard.

Do you remember which sites you head it on? I have TG 208 on the Industrial Communications & Electronics Cap+ system as likely New England Security. It's been a bit since I've listened to it but I'll throw it back into rotation. If anyone else wants to monitor it, if New England is the contracto...

Re: New England Security
I was talking about that today and how when I drove by there in April there were a lot of BPD units on scene where the Methadonians were lined up on Southampton St. Maybe the city has decided to downsize the police assigned there or maybe the merchants want a less expensive alternative to BPD detail...

Re: 451.49375 IDAS
It could be anything. I'll check the FCC website and see if there are any licenses for 451.69375. 451.49375 is close enough to one of the Gillette trunk frequencies that they sometimes interfere with each other on DSDPlus. 451.6875 I likely will never get from here, as that is the JetBlue TIII I'm w...

Re: 451.49375 IDAS
My notes have Channel 4 as 451.6875, although I don't think that's verified. It's been a while since I listened to this system. I show Channel 1, 4, and 5, but haven't seen a Channel 2 as of yet. From the notes, it's received well in Stoughton. It "beacons" about every 5 seconds or so. I'v...

Re: Digital scanner P25 and C4 Amateur radio's? are there any?
I was wondering the same sort of thing, so this is good information. I used my analog Icom mobile to listen to a small list of VHF/UHF public safety agencies. One of them just moved to P25, so I can't do that any longer. Oh well, I still have the SDS200 in the truck so it's no big deal. The Kenwood ...
