OT - but air in the line - their fault - had the PM done last friday and apparently the Tech did not bleed the air out of the line/filters

Re: Winterfest 2022 Whitman K of C January 15th 9am-1pm

Yikes! That happened to us last year and we were out of town when it happened. Fortunately, a friend was keeping an eye on the place and called to tell me. I was able to get ahold of the oil company and they sent a tech right over. Good luck, I hope it's not too expensive. Sadly, Cash was in-hand an...

I've listened for the better part of three days and haven't heard a peep. I'll keep listening through the weekend, but it seems dead down here.

Re: Massachusetts Area DMR, Uniden HPE or ProScan

For the most part DMR users are mostly business related. As Mike points out, colleges and hospitals are transitioning to DMR as they replace equipment. Special needs transportation companies use radio a lot due to the nature of their clientele. None of it is particularly interesting, though. I don't...

Re: Good deal on brand-new Uniden BCD325P2 handheld phase II scanner

I have bought factory refurbished Unidens in the past with good results. As you point out though, right now there is a shortage. At some point I expect to have a used, but in good condition, 325P2 for sale. I have to wait until Uniden does whatever to the one that I sent to them before that. The one...

Re: A Tale of Two Scanners

There is always some risk when buying used. OTOH, if I didn't have the first scanner to compare this one with, I probably wouldn't have realized that the second one has poor sensitivity. This is actually the first time I've ended up with a defective used scanner. I don't think the seller realized th...

Re: A Tale of Two Scanners

I did as it happens. I removed the "front" board so that I could get to the "rear" board where the antenna connects. I wiggled it and there was no movement. I was hoping that it would be as simple as that, but alas it's not. Off to Uniden it goes later today. Along the same lines as the antenna sugg...

Re: A Tale of Two Scanners

It's a good idea. I did that, with several different antenna combinations, and the results were consistent. The non DMR scanner always received better. Probably not the issue and you might have already thought of it. However, have you tried swapping the antennas between the two? Perhaps the newer on...

A Tale of Two Scanners

I'm posting this to bounce some thoughts off of the tech types, but of course anyone can jump in. Back in Sept. I bought a 325P2 for a small scanner to listen to around the house when I didn't want to drag the SDS100 around. I'm mostly interested in town public safety, MSP in the area, and local tow...

Re: SDS100/200 GPS Scanning

When I was setting up the GPS coordinates for the ICE and Bearcom/Comtronics 900 systems, I found that particularly with Bearcom the Lat/Long data was often incorrect compared to the RR information. I set up two separate spreadsheets, one for each system. I spent time verifying what the FCC had (I k...

I'm not up there enough to listen on the scanner, but based on the recent episodes of "North Woods Law" they are mostly using the County SO channels where ever they happen to be. They seem to use Channel 2 for the lost hiker searches. Again, that's just based on snippets on TV, so take it for what i...

They could also maintain their own radio systems for a while. Fallon, Lifeline, and Stewarts Ambulance of NH were merged under Transformative Healthcare, but as far as I know, still maintain separate radio systems.
