Re: ICE 900 trunk conversion to DMR Tier III
No various messages such as affiliations/deaffiliations and notes that attempts to change the network ID were blocked. Also some changes in site IDs. I've also seen what I take to be TIII TG IDs. Since it's a long weekend, nothing has been happening at all. Industrial has been going straight out as ...

Re: ICE 900 trunk conversion to DMR Tier III
Thanks! I don't think I've ever listened to any of them, other than maybe the MCCA Hytera system, on my scanners. It's all be DSD+. I still have to figure out why the 325P2 doesn't see any signal at all on Foxboro or W. Bridgewater. Both are close enough to my QTH that I can get the Con+ systems eas...

Re: ICE 900 trunk conversion to DMR Tier III
I don't know if either Uniden scanners or DSD+ will show "Cap Max" as it might not be programmed into the firmware yet. DSD+ shows "Tier III (MOT)" on the display. I haven't been able to get my 325P2 to see the TIII control channels at all. I'm going to add a System with the acti...

This is like a smaller scale version of what goes on a Gillette. MSP does the roads, Foxboro PD is lead inside the stadium with assistance from a lot of other agencies, Foxboro FD is the lead Fire/EMS agency with the help of other FDs, Coastal Ambulance does the transports. There's even a lock up in...

Re: Uniden programming cables for Windows 11
Glad I could help. This computer stuff, especially drivers for hardware, can be a huge PITA.

you are the man! Took me a couple tries to get it to work but I figured it out. Drivers all updated, connected with computer, and Freescan detected my scanner. Thank you.

Re: Uniden programming cables for Windows 11
You need to uninstall the PL2302TA driver and install the new version. That's why it wont' work with Windows 11. Here are step by step instructions for doing that, https://www.thewindowsclub.com/how-to-install-pl2303-prolific-driver-on-windows-11 Well, no luck updating drivers for my cable that I us...

Re: CoMIRS - Western Mass
I've seen that on the 700 Mhz Overlay system in greater Boston. I don't know if the P25 system used in western MA is at all capable of Phase 2 currently. It's not all that old, but I don't know if it's capable of being upgraded or will require all new hardware. I can't hope to be as detailed as Gary...

Re: CoMIRS - Western Mass
If the system is operating in Phase 2, you will see P25 in the displays and then either P0 or P1 for which slot is being used. You won't see any slot information on a Phase 1 system. P25 will be displayed where ever you have "Digital Status" located, and the slot number will be displayed w...

Re: Uniden programming cables for Windows 11
Usually, but not always, you click on the downloaded file and the drivers will install. Sometimes you need to install the drivers before plugging in the cable, sometimes you need to plug in the cable first. I don't recall with XT scanners which it is. In the case of the USB-1, you need the drivers s...

Re: Uniden programming cables for Windows 11
If you haven't try downloading the drivers and installing them again. The 436HP uses a regular USB cable, so you shouldn't need any special drivers. Also if you use Sentinel for programming the 436HP, try uninstalling and reinstalling it. It's probably a driver issue and you don't need new cables. T...

Re: ICE 900 trunk conversion to DMR Tier III
So, when we get to the point where we're building Systems for Uniden scanners, we just leave the LCN blank and the scanner firmware will figure it out on it's own? I also wonder if the Motorola flavor of TIII is going to be different enough to make it impossible to scan. Lastly (for now) 938.7500 is...

Re: ICE 900 trunk conversion to DMR Tier III
From what I've seen so far Scott, they are still operating on the Con+ system, but are also running TIII Control Channels on the same sites. Other than some registration requests I've not seen any activity on the TIII channels. I'm running 937.7500 and 936.7125 at the same time. On the first I'm see...

Re: MSP units talking about not being able to monitor.
Taunton sometimes puts limited traffic in the clear if another agency is involved. I don't know who makes the decision or how, but I've heard it a few times since they went to encryption. This just illustrates one of the downsides of encrypted a channel and not thinking about mutual aid implications...

Re: ICE 900 trunk conversion to DMR Tier III
Don't run it as a trunking control channel. Just run it as regular DSD using FMP24. For some reason DSD-CC doesn't show the data properly. Back when we were trying to figure out the MCCA TIII Hytera system, DSD-CC worked fine, so it must be something with the Motorola implementation. It's still earl...

Re: ICE 900 trunk conversion to DMR Tier III
Same for West Bridgewater and Foxboro. I think that this is just the beginning of the process. Which brings up o couple of other questions. Is this a software update only, or does the hardware need to be replaced? Same question for the bases and the mobiles. If it's software only, I'm assuming that ...

Re: ICE 900 trunk conversion to DMR Tier III
I set up a custom search, but it doesn't see 939.1500. I used the entire band from 935.00 to 940.000 and it see multiple control channels for the Con+ sites, but nothing for the TIII sites. For the Con+ sites it shows Network, Site, and Color Code. It even shows TG numbers. It does nothing on 939.15...
