Re: Quincy Fire Ch. 1

Thanks. I forgot about the IFX setting. I'll do that first before I start fiddling with the filters again. Sounds like your SDS is getting images, something it's famous for. Try changing the IFX to see if it makes a difference. If that doesn't change the filter. The receiver detects the PL audio com...

Re: SOPS etc.

Thanks! It sounded like a lot of road closures, but I couldn't figure out what was going on. MSP and Cambridge PD motorcycles were escorting the oversized load carrying sections of the new temporary fire station from the staging area on Soldier’s Field Rd to Hovey Ave in Cambridge over the course of...

Quincy Fire Ch. 1

For some reason I get a lot of digital noise on 483.5375, especially when I'm in Quincy or Weymouth. It happens on the SDS200 in my truck. I've checked the settings and they are all correct. PL, audio mode, modulation are as they should be. I have it set up on my SDR computer in DSD+, but don't get ...

Re: MSP - Lower Basin moving to Upper Basin [Brighton]

I don't know that most people don't know that South Boston isn't part of Boston. Even growing up in far away Wollaston I knew that. ;) Also, H-9 is in South Boston, and F HQ is in East Boston. If nothing else, the PR person should have confirmed the fact before publishing. No matter though, really. ...

Re: SOPS etc.

There is something going on in Cambridge and it sounds like they are using two SOPS TGs for that. I can't really make sense of what it is and there is nothing in the news yet. One of the MSP helos seems to be doing a search over the area between Plymouth Airport and Route 44. I heard a bit on Southe...

Re: MSP - Lower Basin moving to Upper Basin [Brighton]

Third paragraph of the article to which you post the link. Located in the Lower Charles River Basin, the facility is on the National Register of Historic Places and will serve as the only state police facility for Boston . where did you hear/read that ??? Not that I've heard or read the only change ...

Are they closing South Boston? The article says that this will be the only state police facility in Boston.

I wonder if they'll return 273 or keep it as a spare? No matter really, just curious.
Lynskey 85 wrote: 26 Sep 2023 18:38 141 got back about 3 weeks ago and 143 is now down there. 143 should be the last as 273 not having the fenestron cannot get the 5th blade.

No various messages such as affiliations/deaffiliations and notes that attempts to change the network ID were blocked. Also some changes in site IDs. I've also seen what I take to be TIII TG IDs. Since it's a long weekend, nothing has been happening at all. Industrial has been going straight out as ...

Re: ICE 900 trunk conversion to DMR Tier III

Thanks! I don't think I've ever listened to any of them, other than maybe the MCCA Hytera system, on my scanners. It's all be DSD+. I still have to figure out why the 325P2 doesn't see any signal at all on Foxboro or W. Bridgewater. Both are close enough to my QTH that I can get the Con+ systems eas...

I don't know if either Uniden scanners or DSD+ will show "Cap Max" as it might not be programmed into the firmware yet. DSD+ shows "Tier III (MOT)" on the display. I haven't been able to get my 325P2 to see the TIII control channels at all. I'm going to add a System with the acti...

This is like a smaller scale version of what goes on a Gillette. There's even a lock up in...

You need to uninstall the PL2302TA driver and install the new version. That's why it wont' work with Windows 11. Here are step by step instructions for doing that, https://www.thewindowsclub.com/how-to-install-pl2303-prolific-driver-on-windows-11 Well, no luck updating drivers for my cable that I us...

I've seen that on the 700 Mhz Overlay system in greater Boston. I don't know if the P25 system used in western MA is at all capable of Phase 2 currently. It's not all that old, but I don't know if it's capable of being upgraded or will require all new hardware. I can't hope to be as detailed as Gary...

If the system is operating in Phase 2, you will see P25 in the displays and then either P0 or P1 for which slot is being used. You won't see any slot information on a Phase 1 system. P25 will be displayed where ever you have "Digital Status" located, and the slot number will be displayed w...

Usually, but not always, you click on the downloaded file and the drivers will install. Sometimes you need to install the drivers before plugging in the cable, sometimes you need to plug in the cable first. I don't recall with XT scanners which it is. In the case of the USB-1, you need the drivers s...

Re: Uniden programming cables for Windows 11

If you haven't try downloading the drivers and installing them again. The 436HP uses a regular USB cable, so you shouldn't need any special drivers. Also if you use Sentinel for programming the 436HP, try uninstalling and reinstalling it. It's probably a driver issue and you don't need new cables. T...

Re: ICE 900 trunk conversion to DMR Tier III

So, when we get to the point where we're building Systems for Uniden scanners, we just leave the LCN blank and the scanner firmware will figure it out on it's own? I also wonder if the Motorola flavor of TIII is going to be different enough to make it impossible to scan. Lastly (for now) 938.7500 is...
