Re: Chicopee Flea is next Saturday March 7th

I'm starting to look into if I could go to the flea, and then afterwards finally get up to the Feeding HIlls/Agawam 900 repeater to change the input frequency to 902.0625 to try getting around all the noise it has currently on 902.800. I've been wanting to do this for a while, but it just seems to m...

Re: Transportation Company

Been hearing a transportation company 160.1625. CC1, TG1, SL1. There is a license for a repeater on this frequency on Alpine Hill in Fitchburg (where 1280 AM is), which is probably why it gets out so well, but it's licensed to the estate of someone as a for-profit carrier trunked, with a control po...

On behalf of the Whitman ARC I’d like to thank all those who came out to Winterfest today. We had another great crowd! See you again next year!

Re: Prudential Building (Follow up)

These systems utilize antennas designed for in building coverage instead of a big stick on the roof meant to cover a wide area. They may be running licensed power, but to antennas only designed to cover inside the building.

Weymouth PD

Weymouth PD is currently simulcasting dispatch on their traditional 470.9375 PL 131.8 in analog, and P25 on their channel 2, 472.325 NAC 270. The units in the field are only heard on the P25 channel. I have no idea if this is the final configuration or if they'll eventually switch to P25 on 470.9375...

Great seeing those who were there as always! The weather was fine, a couple drops of rain on Friday and some drizzle Saturday morning. Nothing like it was down south of the mass pike.

Re: Boxboro Ham Radio Convention and Flea Market

I just arrived at the hotel, will be here right through the drawing on Sunday. I'll mostly be on the 927.5875 portable repeater linked to the NEAR-900 network. Also 145.390 simplex, PL 67.0.

Re: SDS200 Observations

Update on this. I sent in my SDS200 to Uniden for repair because of the horrible overload/intermod issue. They replaced the unit.... the new one is exactly the same. I can't believe that this is normal operation with such an expensive scanner. I know the overload is not just on VHF either, as I'll h...

Re: IKEA Stoughton

If the TGs jump from slot to slot, it's probably a CAP+ system, or possibly another manufacturer like Hytera's XPT trunking.

Re: Hanson PD System Changes

They're going to the regional dispatch center in Duxbury next year, but that is not a radio system, it's just where they dispatch from.

I'd listen for them with a NAC of 270, as Industrial does their radio system work, and that seems to be the NAC they always use.

It's probably worth noting in the forums here that Cohasset, Hingham, and Norwell have all switched to P25 in recent weeks as well.

Re: Braintree Radios _ Sluething Opportunity?

I concur as well. Dedicated copper phone lines are becoming less and less reliable every day. Every department that is still using them should be aware by now that they should be switching to a fiber and/or microwave solution.

Re: Fenway Park

Here's all I can confirm:

Tours - 452.625 D051
Fan Services - 464.200 - D031

We already have the fan services one in the wiki as customer service, so I suppose that doesn't need to be changed.

I'm a bit confused by your use of the "overload" as it sounds more like poor reception.
If you watched/listened to my video, you probably see what I mean by overload. Especially on 162.400, you can hear the audio from 162.475 bleeding all over it.

Mike, yours sounds considerably better than mine!

I just made a video showing the comparison, on the same antenna.
