Re: Welcome to the new Scan New England website

For those that use Tapatalk I haven't got that far yet but I'll be working on that as soon as possible.

Re: Welcome to the new Scan New England website

The NEFD and Logbook search pages have been built into the website. Unfortunately the results can't be, apparently, and they still open into a pure .html page. There are links in the results to return to the search page, which essentially returns the user to the website with the full left side menu ...

Re: Welcome to the new Scan New England website

If you are victimized by the apparent password issue, and you have reset it and logged back in, you probably want to change it to something that you'll remember. To do so: 1. In the upper right corner of the pages you'll see your username with a down arrow to the right of it. Use the down arrow to o...

Re: Welcome to the new Scan New England website

Thanks trp.

If this happens, click on the "I forgot my password" link beneath the login, wait for the email, and then follow the instructions.

I'd like to hear from someone NOT having the problem too! :D

Re: Welcome to the new Scan New England website

Just FYI: My password did not work, I reset it, then changed it back to my normal password. All is good! I think this may be a "feature". When we did the test run some had this problem and others didn't. You recovered in short order though, so glad to hear that and thanks for the info.

Welcome to the new Scan New England website

The switch is complete. If you have any issues use the Contact Us link at the bottom of any forum or portal page and provide as much info as possible. I'll probably add that link to the content menu as well. A few points: 1. Your username and password from the old site should work. 2. Your avatars d...

Upcoming Website Changes

Scan New England will be changing to a different message forum software in the very near future, possibly as early as this coming weekend if time allows. During this migration the following will take place. 1. The existing forums will be inaccessible. This may last for a few days. I have already don...

I can’t believe this forum has existed for 10+ years All of the above are noted and will be spared! :D Actually it's been far more than 10 years, closer to 20 in various incarnations. This pruning is being done for a purpose. This site has gone through some changes over the y...

It is my intention to delete all registered users that have not been active in these forums since January 1, 2017. This means last log-on date. This is fair warning to all. If you are in this category and wish to remain an active user log in and respond to this message. If you're viewing the forums ...

I think I may have found the problem and it may be something other than the scanner. I am using one of the old Electroline 75 ohm multicouplers as a distribution point to several scanners and I'm wondering if it is getting a little wonky. I used another length of coax and went directly do a differen...

Hi Patrick, That won't be an issue. If you can't change it in your User Control Panel just PM me with what you want to use and I'll do it manually. Normally the only time my intervention is required with this is if someone is changing it to a gmail address. The fact that you're forwarding it after t...

Scanner Feed Changes

Due to a rapidly failing BC898T scanner I will be making some changes to my scanner feeds once I figure out the exact gameplan. The maritime feed, which is hardly ever used anyway, will in all likelihood be shut down permanently. I may use that BC780XLT as the main scanner feed as it can still handl...

E-Mail Addresses

Hi Folks, I am starting to get a lot of email bounce messages due to addresses that are apparently no longer valid. This is happening when you've chose to be notified about updates in forum threads primarily. I would ask everyone to please check their email address to be sure it is current. If you d...

Thanks Jeff. I can't quite get into it from here but I have a better antenna that is otherwise occupied. I'll unlash it and try that way at some point in the near future. I had come to the conclusion that 3125 was the only static group as I remembered that BM is all PTT anyway unless I'm mistaken. I...

W1ATD Brandmeister Repeater

Hi, Can anyone tell me what Brandmeister TG's this repeater supports? Going through my OpenSpot I can see MA Statewide become active when viewing it via SDR# and listening via DSD+, but it seems to be the only TG I'm keying up. I'm in the process of programming it into my CS800D but wondering if it'...

I'm still adjusting to the radio but I like it. It's built like a tank and performs like a champ. Yes on the alpha display and up to 16 characters available. Frequency range is 136-174 and 400-470, although it wouldn't surprise me that someone savvy with a hex editor might be able to stretch the upp...

My Return to Amateur Radio

Hello, This post somewhat goes hand in hand with the post I made in the other forum a short time ago (The State of The Webmaster Address). As mentioned there I've returned to the amateur radio portion of the hobby and I'm really enjoying being back on the air again. I sold off some monitoring equipm...

The State of the Webmaster Address

Hello all, I just started my 30th year of working for a local police department here on Cape Cod. As many of you know I am the supervisor of communications for that department, and have been since 1996. Let's cut right to the chase. Honestly? I am absolutely, positively, almost 100% burnt out on the...
