Re: 462.0750 R 173.8

462.075 on Cape Cod is Falmouth Hospital, DMR with CC of 04. I haven't heard the Orleans entry at all and surely would from either of my monitoring locations, or I would expect.

Re: Massachusetts Notification System

I've heard this test periodically as well. It almost certainly is from JBCC. No other activity I'm aware of on that frequency in quite some time, but this definitely pops up on occasion.

Re: Unknown transmission on 44.200

Did you obtain a PL tone? That is helpful to ID the station. Also, given that it is low band it could very well have been skip.

Re: RDC Communications Talk Group

There are several TG's for various different marine channels, or combinations of channels. Gary, these are on the Mashpee and Yarmouth systems. Network 178. I believe they may be for US Towboat purposes. The receive antenna is clearly in a great location, as was/is US Towboats on their UHF frequenci...

That's pretty cool, Murph! Kudos! Did you speak with an Irish brogue?

"Ah, Missus O'Toole...that's a fine brat of a boy you've got there...is he on the bottle?"

"I should say not! He don't smoke, drink, nor chew!"

Re: My Home Post

Interesting on antennas. How do the mobile antennas work, given that they are likely not half waves and therefore ideally should have a ground plane setup. In any event, great setup! Thanks for sharing.

Re: Freescan Software

I was talking to Mark about using Proscan instead. Freescan as you state doesn't require registration. Proscan does, at $50 for 2 installations. I suggested that to him as an alternative as Freescan has apparently been abandoned, and Proscan should cover the scanners he needs to program.

Re: Freescan Software

You can download and re-install provided you have your credentials on hand. Even if you had it installed on a prior computer and didn't de-register it you should be able to install it as it is good for two different installs as I recall.

It hasn't been updated to my knowledge. I use ProScan for pretty much everything now and as I recall I think you have that?

Election Related Communications

Well tomorrow is the day...and monitoring should prove to be interesting. If you care to, please use this thread to post any interesting and/or new frequencies/talkgroups pertinent to the election. As usual, no covert/surveillance/etc. type communications should be posted.

Happy monitoring!

10/21 Evening

Seems like a bit of an opening from my location (Cape Cod) to the north. Nothing spectacular by any means, thus far anyway.

156.2100 94.8 Webster MA Police
154.1000 94.8 Richmond RI Police
155.5800 94.8 Dunstable or Groton MA Police

I'm sure there will be more. I had a nice 94.8 PL run there....

Cool, thanks for the info.

This opening is likely to go away with the rain, but that said just heard Bay of Fundy Radio on Marine CH12 (156.600).

MSCommNet in here as well. Bill, out of curiosity what are you using for a beam? I don't recall (or missed) you mentioning it before.

I can also confirm talk group 4001 is Range Control at Joint Base Cape Cod, I caught a transmission today where they Identified themselves as Range Control.
4001 through 4005 (or maybe it's 4004) is related to this activity. I "think" this is the pollution plume cleanup crew or something similar.

152.405 DMR

Our world famous Wiki shows one listing as Wareham School Department with a PL of 156.7 but I am thinking they may have upgraded to DMR. CC of 1 and TG 14 on Slot 1 is the only TG I've seen thus far. Can anyone confirm? With the signal strength in proximity to my location and the sound of the comms ...
