Re: Jeep Wrangler RFI

It's an interesting thought. I bought a kit to convert the tail lights in my 2019 Tacoma to LED. Occasionally when I'm in a weak signal area I'll get some signal degradation when I'm listening to FM and brake. When I did the radio and other electrical installation work on the Tacoma I put in a separ...

Re: Jeep Wrangler RFI

That's odd. When I was setting up my 2019 Tacoma I was worried about mounting an antenna to the hood. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it turned out. Chrysler used to publish a guide for the radio installation, but they probably don't do that any more. Maybe talk to someone in the service dep...

Re: Jeep Wrangler RFI

Modern vehicles are supposed to have better RFI suppression because of the multiple computers they have. Could it be a grounding problem? If it's not a new vehicle, I'd check all of the grounding points and look at the body to frame ground straps. From my memories of the old days body on frame vehicl...

Re: 8/4 All Day

It seems that way. I wasn't surprised to receive it in the hills of Sudbury, but out in Needham was unexpected. OTOH, I used to pick up the EDACS system as far as Rte 24 in Randolph fairly often. It seems the additional Shrewsbury sites really improved it's foot print east. Not sure why but it did.

Re: 8/4 All Day

I was receiving the Worcester P25 system on I-95 at the Needham Flats. Not bad considering how much RF is floating around out there.

Re: MBTA Provice

There isn't. However one of the bidders may only be able to provide 1,199 trunked Talk Groups and so won't be able to meet the specification. If they are operating under MGL Chapter 30B (Uniform Procurement Law), the contract must go to the "lowest responsive bidder." A bidder can be non r...

Re: MBTA Provice

You're right, DSDPlus doesn't follow EDACS. For some reason, my brain never retains that. :( I keep meaning to try Unitrunker again, but never seem to find the time. Thats the thing. The dongles worked fine before but now instead of edacs it shows the system as sitepro and spews random data and not ...

Re: MBTA Provice

It wouldn't be the dongles per se, it would be Unitrunker. I haven't used Unitrunker in some time so I don't recall if it follows EDACS trunking. Pro Voice is just digital voice, it doesn't involve the trunking part of the system. DSDPlus follows the trunking and processes Pro Voice audio. I use two...

Re: IDAS and DMR - 451.4875

Definitely IDAS, I can hear it quite clearly as a trunk system at my QTH. 451.500 is among other things one of the frequencies for the Gillette Stadium operations Cap+ system. Signal strength for that has been down to my location of late, but it does sometimes override 451.49375. Some of the traffic...

Re: Message Forum Upgraded

It's very odd as it's only this forum that is effected. I'm sure I'll figure it out at some point and it's not a big deal. Oddly enough, the Wiki isn't effected at all.

I did, but I'll go back in and see if I missed anything. I don't want to have to delete all of my cookies and don't think I have to. Of course, the browser may not agree with me on that.

I don't know if it's me or not, but I don't stay logged in on the forum. Periodically, more or less at random, it I have to log in again. It does not happen on the Wiki or any other websites on which I usually stay logged in.

Re: BearCom RDC

It's odd because when you look at the RRDB, they don't show up, but when I did a test download using ARC536 everything populated properly. I did that last night, but didn't get a chance to post it. We haven't heard from the OP for a bit, so I don't know if he got it figured out. RR has the correct L...

Re: BearCom RDC

It depends on what the RRDB downloads for Channel numbers. You need the correct numbers for the scanner to follow the sites. The SNE Wiki has the correct info. If what you downloaded from the RRDB doesn't match you need to edit what's in ARC536.

Re: BearCom RDC

You need to program all of the frequencies in the correct order and the Channel Numbers as well. Here is the channel line up for Site 3, which is Plymouth. 0451.350000 109 RAN=3 0462.150000 573 RAN=3 0463.425000 675 RAN=3 0462.350000 589 RAN=3 0464.735000 780 RAN=3 Make sure that the system type is ...
