But it's not P25, so it won't show a NAC.

Re: 453.2000 N343 - Fully Enc.
Bristol uses 453.200 for parades and details. The Wiki has it as DMR and unlike the VHF channels not encrypted.

Re: Public Safety P25 v DMR
As you note, you can have fifty talk groups, but are limited to dispatch talk groups by the number of dispatchers you have. At least I think that's what you were referring to. Boston PD uses essentially the same number of dispatchers and dispatch channels that they had when they went to UHF in the m...

Re: Public Safety P25 v DMR
The more people who are issued radios, the more they feel that they have to talk. Even if they have nothing to say. That's not restricted to trunk systems, but perhaps it's worse on conventional systems. We used to joke that about half the people on my job should have their Tx disabled unless a disp...

Re: Public Safety P25 v DMR
It seems that some of the agencies that weren't able to communicate on scene probably shouldn't have been on scene. Everyone wants to go to "The Big One" even if aren't needed and will only screw up the operation. That's not limited to police agencies. After the WTC towers were hit in 2001...

Re: Public Safety P25 v DMR
I included RMV in my post. Capitol Police UHF channel went to BPD. Has anyone ever heard any traffic on the Environmental Police Low Band channels? The problem with the Environmental Police was that there were some federal money issues regarding wrapping game wardens into another agency. I forget th...

Re: Public Safety P25 v DMR
ecps92 and I agree that MSP missed a great opportunity when they failed to combine the RMV, MDC, and MSP low band systems into one repeater network! ;) That's the most common sense point which is consistently ignored or advocated against by some manufacturers. The lower the tech, the easier interop ...

Re: Public Safety P25 v DMR
It also applies to UASI grants and most other public safety grants. The radios have to be P25 capable, even if they operate in analog mode. It all falls under the umbrella of "interoperability." Which became the big thing in public safety after 9/11 and the communications problems with ope...

Re: Buxton Upgrading
Agencies that are using DMR couldn't get public safety grants. One of the reasons that P25 is so expensive is that the vendors know that there is money out there for upgrades to P25. While it's good to have a standard, grant money drives up costs and puts it outside the budget of agencies that can't...

Re: NEAR-FestXXXIII will be held on April 28th and 29th 2023 not its traditional date
FWIW, I'll be selling at MIT on Sunday. I have 40 years of accumulated stuff that is going as part of our house decluttering. I'll have even more at NEAR Fest as I'm helping my late friends wife clean out his basement work shop. He worked in electronic repair and engineering for 60 years and has a l...

That's a very nice offer, John. Based on past experience, a tent would be nice to have. I plan to get up there early on Friday morning and leave late. I just have so much junk that's collected over the years. Not all ham, but that's never been an issue at NEAR FEST. If you'd like to pull into the GE...

Re: ICE MotoTRBO TRS Decoding Project - Official Thread
Odd traffic on TG 328. I identified it as a two company in 2019, but right now I'm hearing what sounds like an active shooter drill on it. They don't seem to be using standard ICS callsigns or nomenclature.
I heard it on the Foxborough site, but it's likely on others as well.
