Scan New England Headquarters - V5.0

Post by Scott »

After a lot of renovation, wire pulling, hair pulling, beer drinking, and a small amount of harsh language to boot, I'm pleased to present Scan New England Headquarters, version 5.0.

Enjoy!

AWESOME Job Scott! I thoroughly enjoyed the video tour of the SNE "HQ" (i.e. radio bunker!). The captions were well done and the RUSH soundtrack was great. You must be beaming just like a proud poppa :-)

Pretty cool stuff there Scott. The choice of music was good, but I would have picked "Trantor Station" by Erik Norlander, it fits in with the modular look of your rack. And it would fit the length of the video perfectly at 6:25.

I just bought a Samsung 32 inch HDTV, they didn't have a single 1080P in the store, only 720P's and I didn't want to go to 10 more stores to find one.

You left out the most important part. The antennas.

Anyway looks awesome. My only question is as follows. : There seems to be a lot of feed line with in this set up. Does the length of all this feed line create any loss in signal strength especially on the higher bands?

Feed line loss is likely negligible. I'm using good quality RG6 for them, and none are longer than 10 feet. Also with the location of "The Monolith" I am trimming probably about 20 feet or so off of each antenna run, so that more than makes up for it.

I'll get out and take some tower and antenna photos if it ever stops raining.
