5/18/20 DX

Post by Scott »

Band is wide open to New York City this morning on 470 and 476 MHz, numerous NYPD stations. I wondered about this as it often seems to happen when a tropical system is moving parallel to the US east coast. And sure enough, there it is. I'm sure it'll dissipate as the sun gets higher but for now it is very strong.

Been watching the Maine to Mass [VHF] as well

guess, with the storm moving up the coast, I might need to adjust my monitoring hours :)

To continue on this, VHF and UHF are - from Cape Cod anyway - opening to the north. Hearing Oxford ME County Sheriff on 155.070 192.8 very strong, as well as an increasing amount of Boston area UHF. No path to NYC from here tonight at this point.

Working its way inland too. The farthest catch so far from here has been Maine Turnpike on 151.0700/107.2 . P25 is trying to break through on 155.7975 (Likely Strafford County, NH) and 155.1900 (Unknown, no audio or NAC decode.)

Essex county stuff coming in.
