Goes to show you don't need much for good DX. I had a porch mounted antenna in my old apartment and got a ton of DX on that thing. Well below the roof line.
The location helps a ton. I am in "Radio Free Taunton" (MA) and don't pick up nearly as much as I'd like to here, sans a nice tower.

VHF and UHF have bee wide open, chasing my tail on some [what I thought were new local users] that were band opennings.

Hearing CG Sector Northern New England at work, also heard Falmouth ME Police DMR on 155.790 CC7. I'm sure there's plenty more.

The opening to the north continues....Knox County Sheriff 153.995 203.5 with a distinct "ding" at the end of every transmission...I hope...I hear one anyway! Very strong signal.
