Best Signal from South Weymouth is on a beam W/NW
So far only getting the Beacon and reporting a "Rest Channel" of 3

No much determined via the FCC files,...

To add to this 453.6625 is also now beaconing with a CC 01 Cap+
Now leaning toward Marshfield moving to DMR ?? and getting the signals on the backside of the beam

Yet the LTR pulse from 453.5875 is still running..

453.6625 LCN 1/2
453.5625 LCN 3/4

Finally a logged TG of 36 - need to ID the use

More and more likely it is Marshfield

I just plugged this frequency into my SDR/DSD+ set up and am getting that as "Site 1" with CO2.

Signals strength isn't terrific, but it's readable. At least the data is readable, I don't know about voice yet.

Marshfield is licensed for both frequencies under KCG570. It still shows analog for emissions type, but we know that doesn't really mean much.

Ooops, I see that Bill already mentioned the possibility. They might be transitioning to Cap+, so the LTR system might be on line for a while.

Maybe building a replacement for their LTR system?

Of the 3 freqs for Marshfield it seems two are assigned to this DMR and the 3rd is still on the old LTR as it is still sending the LTR pulse

I don't see any signal at all from the LRT frequency. Which doesn't really mean anything since I'm not close to Marshfield. 453.5625 has a better signal than .6625.

I've seen a TG 36 pop up a couple of times, but no voice traffic.

I think I'll put .5875 into DSD+ as Channel 5/6. Might not show up right away, but probably will at some point.

The bit of traffic that I caught seemed to be about Covid Vaccine operations. From a quick search on line, Marshfield is running a vaccine clinic at the fairgrounds.

TG 17. Someone asking maintenance to come over and change a light bulb. No location, because that would make this too easy!

TG 36 had more communications about vaccinations.

TG 37 popped up once with one unit calling another. Then same people appeared on TG 36.

I heard some clues on TG36 that definitely lead me to believe it's Marshfield. I had noted vaccine talk on the old Marshfield PD 482.5625 analog repeater, so we should see if that communication is now gone.

You're much closer to Marshfield than I am, so you'll likely have better copy than I do. If you can confirm that, we can update the Wiki. Either an update to the LTR page or more likely (I think) a new page for the Cap+ trunk.

For some reason, the audio on TG36 is muddy compared to that short exchange on TG17.

I've seen that in two other locations. New Bridge on the Charles in Dedham, and New Shoreham, Rhode Island.

I don't think we're quite there on a Wiki entry, but we're close.

LCN's typically are one description in scanner programming. That looks more like logical slot order than channel numbering.
I think that's a product of how DSD displays them, but isn't how a general scanner user could use them.
I believe in the "real" scanner world for DMR, those simply translate to "LCN 1" and "LCN 2"

Yeah we are. I know you like to err on the side of caution, but I think , especially with Jeff's post and other info I have obtained off line, it's Go Time.

TG 9 is the school system. I don't know if it's one school only, but there was a discussion about a problem with the plumbing in the "Boys Room." It appears that each school has it's own TG. The problem is that they don't use any identifiers other than calling staff by name.

So far, I've found 5, 9, 13, used by school personnel.

Incidentally, I discovered that unlike with a Con+ system, with a Cap+ system audio has to be enabled on both the DSD-CC and DSD-VC sides to get all of the voice traffic.

Two notes:

1) I moved this to the SE Mass forum.

2) The LTR page should provide some references as to the new TG users. There was a "town-wide interop" TG on the LTR, that is likely was 36 was being used for.

That may be the case for TG36 and maybe TG37. I cross checked with the LTR page and didn't see anything for the schools.

TG1 through TG17 seem to be schools using only odd numbers. I've heard 1, 3, 9, 13, 17 so far. I haven't looked to see how many schools the town actually has.

TG36 had medical related traffic including "Paramedic x" call signs, so it's almost definitely the vaccine site.
https://www.marshfield-ma.gov/home/pages/covid-19

Since the schools were closed for vacation last week when I heard TG17, that might be the administrative offices. The other TGs became active yesterday, which makes sense if they are schools.

I think we have the broad outlines of how this works. I don't know if I'll bother listening again until after school gets out. I expect that they'll move other town departments over to the new system as they can get the radios installed.

At some point, they'll likely add 453.5875 over and added that to the rotation as well.

As it happened, I had DSDPlus running while I was doing some work this afternoon. The radio traffic on TG36 sounded like police traffic, but was not simulcast on Marshfield PD. Since the vaccine site is at the Marshfield fair grounds, I wonder if TG36 and TG37 are assigned to staff there? The fairgrounds website says that they have different events through the year, so maybe they have full time security.
