P25 versus Analog

#1 Post by newsphotog » 05 Feb 2014 17:38

Just a quick question. How are you able to determine a mixed mode system versus a full P25/Digital on a 800 system? What do you look for

Thanks

Hello,

If it is a trunked system, a Motorola Trunked system can be mixed analog/P25. A P25 system is all P25.

Several ways to determine which type it is.
Ask or research by system user or frequency.
Listen to it, the control channel sounds completely different, a P25 cc is higher pitched.
Do a Control Channel only search and look at the information presented.
