Gillette stadium DMR system update.

Post by garys »

I sorted out some cable issues on my SDR set up and listened to the Gillette Operations trunk today.

I've updated the TG listing to show TG5 as "private" channel. That's how it was referred to on the air. The traffic sounds like a supervisor/management talk around channel.

TG4 is listed in the Wiki as General Maintenance, but seem more like Ushers and Gates from the old pre trunk wiki information. Lot's of talk about letting various people, including vendors into various parts of the stadium.

TG 3 is listed as "Premium." The more I listen, the more it seems like it's a combination of security and maintenance for the shopping mall, not the stadium.

Other than TG5, I haven't changed anything in the Wiki and won't until I'm sure of what I'm hearing. If anyone has information, please do a data submission once you are confident that it's accurate.

TG25 is showing up today on the Operations trunk system.

Might be maintenance or maybe IT support.

I won't be able to listen much today, but maybe someone else can flesh that out.

TG25 definitely sounded like IT support for sales transactions and such. TG19 is another one not in the wiki. It was heard on the Parking trunk with comms pertaining to traffic flow.

I haven't spent much time trying to figure out the parking trunk. I do know from some research that the lot configurations are different for soccer, football, and concerts/events. From listening to that and the MSP detail troopers, I know that the parking lot staff are not allowed to do anything on Route 1 itself.

It takes a lot of listening to that trunk to get a good idea of what each TG is used for.

Another home game next week, so more listening opportunities.

My guess at TG4 would be security supervisors. Probably blue shirts.

Premium is probably Club Level and Optum Club type traffic.

As far as policing, I've heard from various sources local PD (and in house security) deal with everything on stadium grounds (except Special Ops; Bomb Squad, team escorts in and out, etc) and SP handle everything on Rt 1.

One other thing, that struck me as a curiosity about how the back end of the trunks are configured.

There are no talkgroup duplicates. Both sites are DCC 1.

Is this system really a "two site" single trunk, where the TGs are programmed to only run on one site vs the other.

Without knowing the radio techs, how do you tell? Can a site number be decoded from a Cap+ trunk? Having two separate site numbers would sure be a sign.

Your information on the police responsibilities is correct. MSP controls traffic flow on Route 1. Foxboro PD is the lead agency inside the stadium. As I'm sure most people know there are multiple police and fire agencies providing assistance to Foxboro PD and FD for large events.

Yes, a Site number can be decoded, at least using DSDPlus. If you look at the Dell EMC trunk, it's a networked Cap+. I tracked that and figured out the site locations using DSDPlus. I haven't looked that closely at the Gillette trunks, but don't recall that they are networked. Notice that there is a "Parking" TG on the operations trunk. The parking trunk seems to have TGs starting at around 11 and going up to 18. There may be some spare TGs for both trunks that will be used in the future.

As I recall, Kraft has bought some of the lots across the street and there are plans for more commercial and maybe residential properties there.

Time will tell, I guess.

25 is "Aegis support" . Someone announced it on the TG tonight. Likely Ageis IT solutions, a large national IT company.

There is an 18 on the Parking site. I just haven't heard enough to ID it.

All of the internal stadiums comms by the Police Agencies inside the stadium has been on 471.2375 103.5. Been a number of unruly guests, ejections, narcotics possessions, etc. All on this frequency.
The 470.5250 D115 appears to be dealing with outside matters around the parking lots.

There is an Aegis security company a local outfit which morphed out of the old Don Law "LawMen". When Don Law realized he had too much too lose by owning his security folks. The top guys started their own business and for years they where the security at all the Live Nation Boston venues. This has changed a bit lately with Live Nation doing their own thing at the House of Blues and a couple of other venues. Aegis is used at the Fenway concerts and 4th of July for the security near the stage. They are very good with understanding the back stage areas and what is most important to the promoters of the events. Very good at the VIP handling more professional than some. Not sure if Gillette could be using them too? http://apgstaff.com/

Knowing the bit I do about Bob Kraft, I wouldn't be surprised if he had a separate corporation just for the security operation.

Called Team Ops, for a short time they also took over Dean College, when the Campus Police/Security were disbanded
https://www.teamops.com/dean-college/
they may be there still in some form, as the Campus Police were re-instated [MSP SSO's] and Team Ops maybe the Safety side
