Van Pool

#1 Post by RadioPro » 10 Sep 2019 16:01

I have recently noticed all van pool vehicles I see have new UHF antennas on them. Did they leave the low band?

Others still on low band

I'm also hearing what appears to be identical traffic to 452.3875 on 463.9625 CC9 using talkgroup 1126901 TS1/2. It's also licensed to Applied Communications Services in Boston and I'm getting much better reception here than 452.3875.

I've also heard Van Pool on 461.775 and 464.8875. Both Slot 1 Color 9 TG1226901.
The other morning I saw 2 Van Pool vehicles in Lowell with low band antennas. One van from the Fitchburg office and the other from the Bedford office.

I've heard 463.2125 and 463.9625 also with school van traffic. Both are licensed to Applied Communications. 463.2125 is licensed out of Cumberland, RI with Service type YG.

464.6875 under call sign, WRED772 Applied Communications. Site on Copicut Hill in Fall River. Other frequencies on that license are 463.3125 and 464.6875. Licensed as YG trunked, but seem more like conventional with a constant carrier. DSDPlus shows it as DMR (KENW), so it seems that they are using different brands of radios.

ETA: 464.6875 is active, with the same type of aliases, same CC, same carrier activity. DSDPlus doesn't show a system type.

Here is their web page showing where each base is located. Base 6 is in Wrentham.
