New Burlington, MA school radio system

#1 Post by bfrederi » 07 Oct 2019 13:45

The Burlington (MA) Daily Times Chronicle recently reported that several school capital budget projects scheduled for the summer were nearing completion, including one for a new school radio system. The project was described earlier this year at:

http://homenewshere.com/daily_times_chr ... 12a37.html:
District-Wide Walkie-Talkie ($105,000)

This initiative will allow for the purchase, installation and configuration of a district-wide walkie-talkie system and safety buttons. In addition, a water tower mounted antennas would allow communications between all schools and the Police Department. Administrators at each school will benefit from the ability to connect with staff throughout the school buildings and grounds. This system will have the capability of direct communication with the Police Department, if needed.
A new license for this purpose was granted July 3, 2019, but I haven't yet caught anything yet.

WRDR461
451.8500 repeater

If and when I can confirm, I'll post a data submission form FWIW.
