Post by jrm3607 »

Few new talkgroups have been coming up on the Metro Boston 700 site this week.

1089 - Unknown patch (Maybe Metro Fire South?)
1091 - Metro Fire North District (Patch to 482.2500)
3605 - State Radio Techs Encrypted
3665 - Unknown P2 Encrypted (Radio IDs match MSP Portables and MBHSR range)
4121 - Chelsea Police 1 (Patch to 470.8875)
4161 - Revere Fire 1 (Patch to 470.0625)

1089 and 1091 are in the middle of Cambridge assignments, hope that helps

Correct, so far all of the Metro Fire talkgroups have been in Cambridge's range. Metro South isn't very active so it might take us a while before anyone confirms it! :pint:

Cambridge hosts the Metrofire equipment, so it would make sense for the TGs to be in their range.

I heard 4161 talking to what I think is Boston Fire Alarm. They were cleared and heading back to quarters. Seems like it might be a Metro Fire talk group, not a specific Chelsea one.

4161 would be within the range assigned to MBHSR UASI for Revere

4161 has been Revere Fire for the past few days, sounds like you're confusing it with 4121 which has been Chelsea Police

It was a Chelsea engine that I heard. Maybe on the Revere frequency which was patched to the TG, but Chelsea.

All of the MBHSR agencies have radios with all of the others programmed in so it wouldn't be a surprise to hear them.

Ahh that sounds about right, Cheslea and Revere end up covering each other pretty much daily. Will be interesting to see if more cities and agencies toy around with patching into the 700

Boston Fire asking companies with no MDTs to switch portables to "Zone A Position 11" for infomation on COVID related incidents. Monitoring the 700 system it appares Channel 11 is now TG3093 encrypted "BFD OPS 1" in there new APX8000 portables.

I Thought Zone A Ch.11 was a Tactical Simplex [on-scene channel] from the UHF Radios [BFD 11D now BFD 11S]

Too far out of the city to catch that one.

That definitely has been Ch.11 in the past, I think OPS 1 being Ch.11 is a very recent change with the new multiband portables they got for the whole department now(Note the specifically ask they to switch to Ch.11 on there portables, making me think it’s not in the mobiles yet).

Also on a separate note I confirmed TG1089 to be Metro Fire Admin, one of the techs was testing on it the other day
