New Gillette Trunk Freq

Post by W1KNE »

Heard this today. Cap+ 452.7500 CC07. Got very strong along I-95 in the Sharon area.
Saw TG 10 show up a few times but was unable to listen.

A couple of ideas. It's licensed to Gillette, and of course Sharon is adjacent. However Gillette has always used CC01.

Mass General is another possibility with some UHF enhancement?

BearCom also has a licensed 2 frequency site on top of One Financial (OFC) downtown.

So this is Gillette Stadium

Interesting that it has a different color code than the others. Perhaps it's a new frequency on one of the trunks?

All in one single conversation, all on TG 17. "Command to xx, go to Gate House 2. Then asked someone to go "Behind the field house".

So let's map this out, put it all on one page. I think there are system upgrades/changes happening to the trunks at Gillette

(For the purposes of this, System I is the 'internal trunk', and System II is the 'parking lot' trunk)
Everything labeled System I, or II are in the WFWiki with a DCC01.

WQJD538

451.8250 3 of 4 - System II
452.1000 4 of 4 - System II
452.1250 03/27/23 - TG 17 - Talking about Lighthouse Construction contractors going through gates. DCC07
452.2250
452.4000 2 of 4 - System II
452.6250
452.7000 3 of 4 - System I - 03/28/23 This is now also CC07.
452.7500 CC 07 - TG 17
452.9750 1 of 4 - System II 03/27/23 - Now showing DCC07

WPXL674

451.5000 2 of 4 - System I 03/27/23 Still showing at DCC01 Cap+ on this frequency. 03/28/23 This is now also CC07.
451.9750
452.1250 4 of 4 - System I * This morning I picked up a CAP+ with DCC07 (like above), on this frequency. 03/27/23 This is confirmed now DCC07 instead of DCC01 for this channel.
462.3500
464.4500 1 of 4 - System I
464.7500

Unfortunately (for me) I can no longer receive either of the Gillette systems at my QTH. I may have to take a field trip on a day I'm not tied up with work and sit in one of the lots for a while.

It won't surprise me if they are reworking and/or expanding the system to accommodate the new hotel attached to the stadium. As is System 1 includes both the stadium and Patriot Place. Or at least it seems that way from when I could hear traffic.

Or the Goofy two trunked system they had. No reason not to have all the ops on a single DMR Cap+ or Cap Max trunk.

That's odd as well as they clearly had enough capacity on either to accommodate all of the users. Also odd is that the TGIDs on System II are a continuation of the TGIDs on System !. Plus there is a parking TGID on System I.

Maybe that's the plan, move everything to one system.

32 appears to be used by Patriot Place security. Not listed in the wiki.

Also note, I will update my list above with my findings today.

As you no doubt know, there is a LOT of security there. Plus a lot of cameras in and out of the stadium itself. Back when I could listen I remember one time when "Command" sent a security officer to tell a fan to put out a cigarette. They had picked that up on camera.

It's much like a casino where every square inch is covered with cameras. Except, I'd hope, the rest rooms.

So 451.5000 is interesting.

On DCC07, TG17, was comms about going into Gate 1 and then to "P4". Clearly Gillette.
Then on DCC01, TG101, about "when you complete the tour, please bring the group to exit 4". This also shows as CAP+, but 101 was not in the range of Gillette, and the signal strength was lower. So I think there's a second cap system on 451.5000, using CC01.

(Also there's a third. All Comm has CC15, which is still active, from Hopkinton this morning).

The TG101 traffic also sounds like Gillette as they do tours of the Hall of Fame.

Business frequencies have taken on a Wild West flavor over the past few years.

Don't forget it's all leading up to World Cup. That's the reason for the interior expansion, blowing out some of the walls inside (and I'm not talking about the 'my scoreboard is bigger than your scoreboard' enclosure of the lighthouse end.) There's a minimum distance between edge of pitch and seats for FIFA. He won't get the Final (rumored to be Meadowlands) but RKK is pushing hard for later round games to be held in Foxborough. Who knows if the whole empire will go to one system, but interior and exterior (including Patriot Place) does make at least some sense. It sounds funny on the face of things, but parking is pretty involved there, with all the access roads, set aside parking, media parking and of course the most important, VIP and luxury box parking.

Multiple lots, including on the other side of Route 1. Some of the traffic on the trunk system is interesting, especially when it comes to problems with the Point of Sale system. ;)

I'm running the LCN finder on all 15 frequencies of the two licenses.
The LCN finder works when there is voice traffic, but right now, it's quiet.

It has found 3 LCN so far.

So here is the LCN the Uniden found

452.7500 LCN 1 DCC 7
452.1250 LCN 2 DCC 7
451.5000 LCN 3 DCC 7
464.4500 LCN 4 DCC 7

I will run it again over the weekend when there should be more radio traffic.

I have reason to believe that TG 101 is part of the Depuy's undiscovered but possibly newly discovered DMR CAP+ trunk.
"I am heading up to Bridgewater now". Depuy has an office in Bridgewater too.
TG 101 is well out of range for Gillette and Gillette is now using DCC 07 with everything, so that adds up.
I can verify it sometime soon by driving over there.
ALSO on 453.0000 I received a Cap+ beacon with a DCC01 earlier today. (Of course 453.000 is used by that behemoth signaled towing company out of Braintree, but conventionally). 453.0000 is licensed to Bridgewater's office for Depuy.

Also check 451.18750000 and 456.18750000 when you have a chance. Another license for "New Patriots Stadium LLC"

So here is what I can gather is happening. It almost sounds like TGs are changing too. 32 wasn't seen before the DCC07 days.

17 - Internal Security
32 - External Security

I think it's almost best to scratch this to zero and start over on IDing things, so as to not be confused.

So there is a N.E.R. game tonight at Gillette. Good time to run the LCN finder, and monitor for any new TGs.

I've confirmed the following
10 - Traffic Posts
17 - Security Primary.
18 - Uniform 1. Sounds like ticketing and gates.
19 - Referencing "Opening of the tunnel"
22 - Ushers. ("Usher Supervisor to units, remember customer service"
24 - Escalator has been reversed. Also time left in game given over Ch 17 which is clearly security, repeated here.
27 - Lot 4C Parking Lot. Car left their tail gate open. Parking Lot Security
31 - Guest Services
32 - Security - Utility Check of retail.

Reran the LCN, and it came up a second time with the same results.
