Trip Out West

#1 Post by garys » 11 Nov 2019 19:45

My wife wanted to go to Northampton today, so we took a road trip. I had the SDS200 on in the truck and listened while we were driving around. I didn't have time to sit and listen for a prolonged period of time.

It's sort of quite without Springfield PD, but that's how it goes.

Anyway, the only things of note were that both the Tower Communications LTR and Three Way Radio LTRhttps://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=3034 systems are still active. I think the Three Way system is actually owned by Tower. At least I seem to remember that from the last time it was discussed.

MedCare is now owned by AMR and wasn't heard on the Three Way LTR. I did hear an oil company and one other user. AMR Springfield on 462.950 was pretty busy with emergency and transfer calls, but I didn't hear enough to know if MedCare was on there as well. In fact, I don't know if the name even exists or if it's all wrapped into the AMR brand.

Pioneer Valley EMS is apparently now part of Med Star EMS and wasn't heard on the Tower Communications LTR.

I did hear TG 0-08-064 on that system which is an unidentified ambulance service.

I also heard some brief traffic on 159.7950 with a PL of 141.3. That frequency, without a PL is Holyoke F3 Fireground. Not enough to identify the user.

We have that on the Wiki here, including 463.250 and the TG. The question I had is if they are still using the system or if MedStar had absorbed them. Which is what it appears has happened as clicking on a link to Pioneer brought me to the MedStar website.

That could've been Chesterfield DPW. Not sure on the PL, will check my old books when I get home tonight.

Can confirm that they are still using the system and TG.
Medstar has absorbed them and dispatches them from Worcester

Great. Thanks. Do you have any idea who the other ambulance company on that system might be?
