There has been a carrier (no comms) for the 18 +/- straight hours. Based on a db7 signal strength it must be Fall River?? I am located on Cape Cod, Town of Mashpee. What's up with this??

Any PL?

If not, it could be "neighborhood noise". (RF interference coming from someone's house)

Could be RFI. But, I do not live in a crowded area. Never heard this carrier before in 15 years at the same location. Maybe from JBCC. I guess that is why there is a lock out key and a skip function on my Icoms. No tone displayed.

Mike , Entered in my scanner in FR. Getting medium signal strength and PL of 118.8 and 123.. Looked up the frequency and Bapern Area 4 uses it it with PL of 131.8.

I am getting this here too in Taunton. All scanners have it, in all directions. No PL detection on any of the receivers.
IFX doesn't clear it , it's not a Uniden bug.

Well, I am happy to learn that it is not local RFI at my home. Also, my ICOM shows 7db signal from my North Mashpee location.

Full strength here in Rockland. I'm thinking this must be some of, or all of the areawide 4 sites malfunctioning.

Based on my driving today, to and from various points, I suspect this is coming from the Pine Hills AW4 transmitter.

It's not transmitting a PL, so regular users aren't hearing it.

This is a system related issue to BAPERN, they are aware of it and it is being addressed!
