FDNY Antenna array on Deputy's Trucks

#1 Post by Firefox10 » 23 Mar 2020 19:12

Hi, was in NYC pre corona, and saw a array of antennas on the chiefs and deputy's vehicles. Couple had 2 roof racks with 4-5 each and trucks had aluminum boxes with a half dozen or so drilled in.
Does any one know what they are all for? And I didn't want to get nosey and look inside but how many radios do they have.
Just out of curiosity, but never saw that many except for command posts.

Thanks, J
