New Britain P25 TRS merges with CLMRN

Post by cdgordon »

The City of New Britain has merged into the CT statewide P25 system, CLMRN. They have started using the CLMRN talkgroup numbering system and have changed the radio IDs to meet the standard issued by the state.
PD was TGID 1001 thru 1010 and are now 18901-18910 (these are a guess because they are encrypted but seem to match up)
FD was TGID 2001 thru 2007 and are now 18921-18927 (confirmed)
I cannot confirm the others due to lack of traffic but likely similar layout of groups

Are custom tables required to monitor CLMRN or is it just set up as P25 Std? Programming a WS1088.

I didn't have to for Uniden scanners but I don't know for the GRE/Whistler line.
New Britain is Phase 2 on the CLMRN system. CSP and others are still Phase 1 (mixed system)

Custom tables aren't required on 800 MHz Phase I or Phase II trunked systems.

They were, IIRC, only required on rebanded 800 analog trunks.

CLMRN does not need a custom table in any modern scanner.
