Google Balloon "Loon" on ADS-B

Post by Scott »

This is a first for me. I had heard some pilot chatter earlier in the evening about a Google balloon being visible. Then about 1/2 hour ago I noticed an aircraft at 52,900 feet on my ADS-B setup. Lo and behold, it was the balloon hovering over the NH/ME border and moving SE at about 45 knots. Pretty neat. Tail # is N275LB, confirmed by a web search.

That appears to be it. More fun though when your own equipment is receiving it. ;)
