311.000 2 C-130s Air to Air

#1 Post by KB1FJR » 14 Jul 2009 18:55

Heard 2 C-130s chatting air to air about a drop they would be doing on 311.000 Also heard "C-130" traffic on 119.000 Bradley App/Dept. F- for this area.

On 311.000, which is a common ACC (former SAC) frequency and I have it listed as a RI ANG Air to Air Frequency.

They also said the frequency we are using for the drop is .decimal 950. Assuming they are on 311.000, could that mean 311.950?

Is there a good list of common military frequencies available (I all ready have everything from the Wiki organized in in my scanner) that isn't old (all the lists I can find have outdated information E.G. SAC, TAC)?

Also on 321.000 its not uncommon to hear chatting about refueling and other issues.

If they were C-130's they most likely were from the 143rd Airlift Wing of the RIANG at Quonst point. They do frequent flights sometimes passing over my house.

A day after the airshow, I am sitting in the shack, and low and behold, a C-130, Call Sign Rhody, calling to Worcester Tower, the plane flew right over my house!
