Changes & Reconfirmation: Middlesex Jail & Corrections

#1 Post by bfrederi » 22 Mar 2020 09:38

During a walk across from the Middlesex Jail and House of Correction in Billerica, got numerous Close Call hits on the following two repeater frequencies. Not enough traffic to definitively differentiate the purposes of the two channels, though it seemed like one favored "inside movement" and the other tended toward "outside movement" (entering/exiting gates, vehicle movement, escorts from reception).

For page: https://www.scan-ne.net/wiki/index.php? ... Department

Code: Select all

Frequency	Type Tone Usage
851.5500	R	131.8 M J & H o C (Billerica) (inside movement?)
851.7500	R	131.8	M J & H o C (Billerica) (outside movement?)
Notes: Any reference to "Cambridge" should be deleted since that facility was shut down and merged with Billerica in 2014. According to their web site (https://www.middlesexsheriff.org/middle ... correction), the official name of the merged facility is now "Middlesex Jail and House of Correction".

Wiki updated, Thanks - a much overdue update

Altho Cambridge closed, they also used the Cambridge Repeater for Transport from the Billerica Complex down to the Lower Middlesex Courts.

Guess they also never modified the FCC as the 851.7500 is only licensed from Cambridge :)
I'm going to leave Cambridge there for now and lock on it, once I stop the Telecommute, see what I can confirm
