Important Password Email

Post by W1KNE »

I received an email from "Scan New England" that my "Scan-NE" password is expiring and to click a link to change it.

I checked the header information and the email originated from India.

Very Important!! 1)The passwords here do not expire, are not going to expire, and we have not sent any emails to the such. 2) If for some reason a mass email was going to be sent from this forum, I would notify everyone here WELL in advance of it. So just be aware, and report the email as spam, should you get it.

Might I suggest adding this to the front page of the website at all for those that may start at it before coming into the forums. This doesn't surprise me in the least, it is a sign of the times.

I gave them everything! All my passwords and credit cards I even sent them my passport! I'm sure it will all be straightened out quickly.

Good suggestion. Done. (Took me long enough to figure out exactly how to do this...)
