151.8425 DMR-TIII CC05

Post by W1KNE »

Not sure who this is, a first time reception for me.

151.8425 DMR Tier3 CC 05.

Is it the radio system on Hancock has switched from CAP+ to Tier3? (And changed CC)?

Since Fenway is blocked for me, can't do any confirmations of them,

I'll tr and sit on this for the next 48 hrs and see what we read.

Very Weak into SoWeymouth - So no Go from here...
but 151.9175 is also weak but still showing CC 03

If the CAP+ is DMR CC03, that's the system on Hancock and answers the question I had regarding that!

I'm using DSD+ and it's not quite "catching" yet to display data, but if it does before the Winter Classic starts I'll follow up. I think that's what it is though as I do usually receive that system here to some extent.

Actually I was using the SDR# DSD Plug in. Now that I'm actually running DSD+ itself with the 1 receiver Airspy setup I am seeing:

TIII (MOT) Site:L5-1 DCC:5 RAS NL:2 18

That is exactly what I am seeing. The 536 shows it as Network 5 as well. DRM on the Hancock sends out data of L65, so that's not it.

Interesting the neighbor list.

This is a good mystery.

Very strong signal in Stoughton. Also seeing TIII (MOT) Site:L5-1 DCC:5 NL2.

WQSW689 Data Radio Management, licensed out of Merimack, NH.

Same outfit that has a Cap+ system for Boston public schools. And I think it's the same outfit that has a VHF NXDN trunk for school buses in RI.

Part 22 frequencies?

This is incorrect. (As I said, unless the Hancock site has changed).

151.8425 licensed to Data Radio Mgt is in Boston, and last logged at DCC03 Cap+, unless they've changed it to a DMR T3 system.

This isn't coming from Merrimack, NH.

Is there any reason to think that they haven't or aren't changed over to a T3 system? During a school vacation break would be a good time to do this.
We may know tomorrow if they system starts to carry the same type of traffic as the DCC03 system did.

While their offices are in Merrimack, except for Hudson, NH the other sites are as listed in the Wiki. 151.8425 is licensed only for the Hancock building.

So based on some information offline, this is going to be Data Radio Management.

Currently 151.9175 is still Cap+ with DCC 03 and 151.8425 is DMRT3 with DCC05.

Full strength in Needham just double verifies it. This system is now worth watching to see if/when a full transition happens.

See what happens when you search!

Update: DSD reported lost control channel, and just came back showing Network L6-1.2. Same DCC. Some testing going on perhaps.

I had it set up in DSDPLus as TIII, 5, 5.1 with 151.8425 as LCN1.

I also tried it was L5, but DSDPlus didn't like that.

Guess who will be looking for a new BNC/BNC 6' cable at the Whitman Flea :), if not then Hosstraders
went back to my Telescoping whip and wow, what a signal now. Odd as the bad cable/BNC was only impacting VHF

Not really. I have a ton of BNC cables. I will bring a 6 footer with me to Whitman, you can just have it.
