154.295 Mystery Tones have returned

Post by W1KNE »

The mystery tones on 154.2950 have returned. I've heard this a few times. It's somewhere not near my location and only seems to come in when conditions are opening or even "good".

Sounds like the "box alarm over radio" type system tapping out a box number. In the past I detected D205 on it, tonight, it was too weak for PL decode.

The Box Alarm over the radio has returned...

154.2950 D205. 621.

This is coming in via DX, so it's not local to Bristol County. Unsure who it is however, after all this time.

Yeah but that's definitely not this. I saw this listing. It will be a town with a still operating Gamewell system. (Slow timed)

It's back again. I think this is on Long Island. Conditions are up. They were transmitting box 1-1-1-1 at the key times of 9/11 this morning.
