My Home Post

Post by Firebuff66 »

Still a work in progress
The left havis console has 4 XTL2500s (With modified O5 heads) Each with its own dedicated antenna 40' Above the house
All with LMR400 cable
From top to Bottom
VHF
UHF
700/800
700/800

All the scanners are connected to a Discone 50' Up LMR400 cable to 10 way splitter.
I can listen to public safety in NYC ok but sometimes it's too scratchy so I don't have anything committed to that .....Yet ( I see a UHF yagi in the future)

The middle havis is my Broadcastify & Decoder software scanners
Top To Bottom
BCT15X-Broadcastify Local Fire & EMS
BCD996P2-Broadcastify CT CLMRN
BCD996XT-Broadcastify Local PD
TRX-2 used with trunker/Pro96.com and anything of interest

The Right Havis is
Top To bottom
BCD996XT-Marine & Aircraft
BCD536HP-Local area FD & EMS
BCD996P2-Local area PD
BCT15X-My Town FD & EMS Only
BCD996P2- Everything FD & EMS West of the CT River
BCD996XT- Everything FD & EMS East of the CT River

Under the computer is a BC785D just listening to my towns PD

Those are the 4 colors you can choose on the XTL

I will get a good shot of the antennas up

Most of the radios are at a low volume and when something happens i turn them up :)

Very nice, indeed. I am glad to see that I am not the only person with "multiple radio sickness".

Interesting on antennas. How do the mobile antennas work, given that they are likely not half waves and therefore ideally should have a ground plane setup. In any event, great setup! Thanks for sharing.

You can't see it well but the VHF & UHF do have ground plane set ups (You can see the VHF if you really look LOL)
The VHF has 3 horizontal whips 20" long and the UHF has the same 7" long
The 700/800s are NGP antenna and do work very well

Very nice, organized, and structured set-up.

A question I have is what is the Astro Saber for? (since I'm and astro saber guy at heart)
