Airline Company Freqs

Post by codfish »

I took a stab at putting together a list of airline company freqs in the 128.85-132.0 range by monitoring from my house over the last week. Enjoy. :)

Nice work. This should be transferred into the Wiki; I don't think such a list exists yet.

You heard these all from your house? Wow you must have quite an antenna. I'd be interested in your source if this is not the fact.

Nice list, considering many are actually licensed under AIRINC which doesn't give much information as to who the Local users are. :Bruins:

No special gear, just a radioshack discone feeding my Icom R2500. The planes often call in a half hour or so prior to landing so they can be up to 200 miles from their destination when you hear them checking in. You can easily hear planes 250 miles away if they're at high altitude, and they can be 200 miles from the airport they're talking to, so you can hear them talking to operations centers up to about 450 miles away. Hearing the planes talk to Ottawa or Philly is really no big deal.

Cool list, I second the notion to get that into the Wiki somehow! Where are you located anyway?

Great job there. I have inserted all the above Boston Logan freqs into a PRO-96/2096 file that I had with all of the other Boston Freqs. Assport, BFD, BPD, BAPERN,MSP, etc. I did not make this file, I got it from someone else but I took out some of the NH analog stuff and put this stuff in it's place. If anyone is interested PM me for the file or I could just upload to the file sharing folder here on SNE. Depends on the interest.

Again thanks Codfish, this will work out great when I'm in the city.

Edit, I uploaded the file to the SCANNER PROGRAMMING FILES section.

I have a Pro-2015 that has about 120 aircraft frequencies, mostly Boston Center and Logan Tower, Ground, etc. It is quite busy during the daytime and I have just the OEM whip on it. I hear stuff quite a distance. During brush fire season last year heard pilots out over the southeast seeing the various columns of smoke in Massachusetts.

You don't need much to hear aircraft, it's the ground based transmitters that are tough. I have to get up on Great Hill in Weymouth to hear some of the Logan operational frequencies, and some of those are weak, and I can see the airfield.

Cod that's awesome. I'll be putting this in my Aircraft Bank. Will let you know how it turns out. Definitely wiki material.

Cod, did you enter all those frequencies in your scanner?

I put the scanner in search mode and used logging software that logs all hits and records audio and I let it run for a week, then I went back to see what I caught. There's a lot more out there than what's on my list. That's just the stuff I could identify. BTW, I've been logging ATC frequencies for the past few days. I've identified 114 so far. Should have a good list in a few days.

Edited: Airline freqs have been to the wiki under the New England portal.

What's required to start a new 'section' of the Wiki? Is this something that any user can do, or does a Moderator need to do this?

Good list, and I concur that I can hear planes working Ottawa, Philly, and sometimes Portland, ME from my house when they are at 20K+ altitudes. And I regularly hear Milcom exercises up in Northern NH and off the Cape.
