Is this scanner able to recieve CT state police? Punching in the 700.xxxxx leaves a digit out at the end. Just curious if this scanner is capable of fully following the trunk.

It will program and receive fine. The last digit doesn't display, but it will program.

The issue you might run into, depending on where you are, is simulcast distortion. All scanners with the exception of the SDS series are susceptible to simulcast distortion on systems like CSP, RISCON, and the upcoming CoMIRS system in MA.

You're welcome. Let us know if you're consistently able to hear traffic. You didn't mention if you're using the scanner mobile or base station.

Keep in mind that if you're using it at a fixed location and not using an external antenna, moving the scanner a few inches can change your reception dramatically.

Also, sometimes less antenna works better because you might receive only one site and not have to worry about multi site signals interfering with the signal.
