453 MHz reconfirmations

Post by n1zyy »

These are all straight reconfirmations -- no changes. Found while leaving the scanner running in Discovery on 453 MHz for a while. All have been at least a year.

  • Tewksbury Hospital security/PD - 453.1500, PL 123.0 as ID'd. Heard traffic about detox admissions, checking doors, and meeting with Tewksbury PD for a search. Not previously confirmed, surprisingly.

  • Stow Fire - 453.4375, PL 107.2 Hz - Very weak here, last confirmed in 2014. "Stow Fire Alarm standing by" confirmed for me that it's still them.
  • Ashby Fire - 453.4750, PL 118.8. Very weak here. Heard FD traffic, but didn't get any addresses to match.
  • Pepperell Fire - 453.5500, 136.5 Hz. Dispatch ID'd as Pepperell Fire giving out a call.
  • Bedford Fire - 453.7375, D125 - Surprisingly weak here. EMS and fire calls. Did not copy any addresses to match.

  • Trinity EMS UHF - 453.6125, PL 77.0 Hz - Still in use. Didn't realize it's been a while since it was reconfirmed.

Ashby's signal is very weak. Barely readable in parts of Fitchburg.

With another Discovery run on 5/23 (just got around to going through it tonight), I heard Ashby FD identify as such in a dispatch, and Bedford (MA) dispatched to the VA, so they're more than just frequency/tone matches now. Previous results were recorded 5/20 into 5/21.

A few new ones:

Middlesex county PDs:
https://scan-ne.net/wiki/index.php?titl ... epartments
453.8250, PL 186.2 - Townsend PD. Heard them last time (weak signal), but got some addresses that match their town today.

Additional Middlesex FDs:
  • Acton Fire - 453.1750, D074 - Acton Fire, confirmed by dispatch IDing as such. Barely due for reconfirmation, but while you're in there...
  • Groton Fire - 453.8375, 151.4 Hz. Address match.
  • Townsend Fire - 453.9000, 173.8 Hz. Address match. Also barely due, but due.
I didn't put it in my initial post, but the Tewksbury Hospital "search" they met Tewksbury PD for was for a monkey in the woods. I assumed it was said sarcastically, or that it was reported by a patient experiencing hallucinations, but I saw a blurb in the paper about a reported monkey sighting in Tewksbury. Truth really is stranger than fiction.

This should be all from me for reconfirmations for a bit. :)
